Do you have a little music craver? Friday, May 13 through Sunday the 15th is the Bayou ‘n Brooklyn festival. Expect an amazing lineup of Louisiana musicians for three full days of music, dance, workshops, community jam sessions, and food in Red Hook. It’s for all New Yorkers — big and little.
It’s Spring Teen Night at the Whitney. Expect gallery visits and performances from 6 to 8:30 on Saturday, May 14.
There are more than just pigeons in NYC. This time of year, warblers, vireos, thrushes, woodpeckers, and more are flying through, and the Bronx Zoo is celebrating. Saturday, May 13 is the Bronx Zoo Birdathon. Expect live bird shows at 11:30 and 2, “Bird Watching 101” between 11 AM and 4 PM, and a DJ who creates music using bird sounds.
Storm King Art Center’s summer special exhibitions — Dennis Oppenheim: Terrestrial Studio and Outlooks: Josephine Halvorson — open this Saturday, May 14. They both run through November. Take a picnic. Storm King is a wonderful day trip for NYC families.
